Making Disciples of Jesus Christ
The mission of Emmanuel Christian School is to assist the family by providing students with godly, loving, training that disciples them to exemplify Christ, make biblically-based decisions and attain academic excellence.
Founded in 1967 as a ministry of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Emmanuel Christian School has provided strong, biblically-based Christian education in Toledo for nearly 50 years. ECS boasts nearly 400 students on a leafy campus on Laskey Road, just north of the Franklin Park Mall. The school is just 2 miles from the Michigan border. The remodeled high school and middle school were dedicated in 2006 with state-of-the-art classrooms, labs, technology and air conditioned rooms. The campus also includes an air conditioned elementary wing built in 2001. In addition there are 2 gymnasiums, a soccer field, 2 baseball diamonds, a weight room, two libraries, two large computer labs and over 200 computers throughout the campus. Emmanuel was the first Christian school in Toledo to receive ACSI accreditation and is chartered by the state of Ohio. In conjunction with the 2015 ACSI accreditation renewal, EC also received accreditation by AdvancED. The school is a ministry of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Students come from families that value Christian education, discipline, and academic preparation taught from a biblical worldview.
Dedicated, Excellent, and Loving Faculty and Staff
Emmanuel is proud of the excellent instruction that its qualified faculty offers. Every faculty member must have a bachelor’s degree. Many have master’s degrees. Faculty members are certified by the Association of Christian Schools International and by the state of Ohio. They are committed to the total development of the student: intellectually, emotionally, socially, physically and spiritually. The average number of years in the classroom is 13.5 years. There is a wonderful blend of youth and experience at ECS. Faculty longevity is one of the strengths of ECS. Teachers and staff take advantage of the various classes and conferences provided to maintain their sharp skills in the classroom. All our faculty and staff serve as ministers to our students training them in biblical truth.
