Events and Activities

Mark your calendars and join us for the following upcoming events!

Cedarville Music Showcase Honors Band and Choir - A select group of high school band and choir students have been chosen to participate in this special event at Cedarville University from Febraury 18-20. The students are as follows: Honors Band - Austin Crawford, Dean Christy, Jacob Fulkerson; Honors Choir - Sam Harrington, Josh Lee, Kim Huber, Hayoung So; Honors Orchestra - Ji-Sun Kim.

Annual Cookie Dough Sale – It’s time to buy your year supply of cookie dough! The delicious Spunkmyer cookie dough comes with 4 dozen per box and is divided into individual servings. Proceeds from this annual sale not only help individual students with expenses associated with participating in band or choir, but also go into the music department scholarship fund.

Young People’s Concert – February 18 - Annual outing for students in grades 3-8 to hear the Toledo Symphony.

Annual Showcase of the Arts – This will be the second year the students from various grades participate in this event sponsored by the Toledo Symphony League.

"Give a Child the Gift of Music" Fundraiser Concert with the men's group "This Hope", March 5 at 7 pm - This is the 6th annual fundraiser concert that benefits the "Give a Child the Gift of Music " fund. This Hope is a men's group that praises and worships the Lord through the harmony of their five voices. The concert will be held at the Emmanuel Baptist Church auditorium. Tickets are available at Lifeway Christian Store or the Emmanuel Baptist Church office during normal business hours. You can check out the ministry of This Hope at www.thishope.org.

Middle School OMEA Solo and Ensemble – April 17

Annual Elementary Program – April 30 – “Pirates of the ‘I Don’t Care’-ibbean” – Old and young alike look forward to the annual elementary program. There will be two performances – for grandparents at 10:30 pm and at 7 pm for family and friends. Both performances will be held in the auditorium at Emmanuel Baptist Church (1/4 mile east of the school).

Middle School OMEA Band and Choir – May 7 & 8

Middle School Band & Choir, 4th-5th Grade Bands Spring Concert – May 21 @ 7 pm – Parmelee Gym

High School Spring Concert – May 27 @ 7 pm – Parmelee Gym

High School Graduation - June 5 – The High School Band will be performing.

Fundraisers – The annual pie sale and cookie dough sale are two of our major fundraisers during the school year. The events not only help the music department’s "Give a Child the Gift of Music" scholarship fund, but also enable us to purchase large items such as tubular chimes, tubas, bells, etc. Other fundraisers that we will be holding this year are as follows:

Market Day – Monthly purchases of food items that everyone uses. Check out the great selection at www.marketday.com. The music department’s account number is 15300.
Service Fundraisers – More information will be posted in the near future.
- Car Wash – October 3 - Despite the cold weather, this was a success! Thank you for your support!
- Fall Clean-up – November 21 - Thank you to the homes that allowed us to come and clean-up their yards.
- Spring Clean-up – April 24 - Need your yard cleaned up for the summer? Contact Mrs. Edwards (cedwards@ecstoledo.org) to have your yard put on the schedule for our Spring Clean-up on April 24.
Family Night Out – Take the family out and help the music department at the same time! We will post dates once they are scheduled. This year we are featuring these restaurants:
- Cici's Pizza - We've already had two at Cici's with great success. The next one will be the last day of school (June 4) from 12 noon until 4 pm. A great day to celebrate school being out and the coming of summer!
- Abuelo’s - This was a huge success! Thank you to all those who participated!
- Elephant Bar - All day March 5th will be the fundraiser with the Elephant Bar. This is being coordinated with the This Hope concert that evening. Have a nice dinner before or after the concert at Elephant Bar. Check back soon for the flyer that needs to be turned in at Elephant Bar when paying the bill.
