Do you have a child interested in music? Students have general music from kindergarten through fifth grade. Band begins in fourth grade and choir in sixth grade. The elementary also perform an annual musical. Do you have a child gifted in music? Below lists several of the areas gifted music students can use their talents. Call us today to schedule a visit. University of Toledo Honors Band - Congratulations to these band students, who participated in the University of Toledo Honors Band the weekend of March 20th: Soo Jin Park, Hayoung So, Matt Snyder, James Gagle, A.J. Cechner.
Cedarville Music Showcase Honors Band and Choir - A select group of high school band and choir students have been chosen to participate in this special event at Cedarville University from Febraury 18-20. The students are as follows: Honors Band - Austin Crawford, Dean Christy, Jacob Fulkerson; Honors Choir - Sam Harrington, Josh Lee, Kim Huber, Hayoung So; Honors Orchestra - Ji-Sun Kim.
Annual Cookie Dough Sale – Thanks to all those who supported the music department through this annual fundraiser!
Young People’s Concert – February 18 - Annual outing for students in grades 3-8 to hear the Toledo Symphony. This year's concert was a "step back in time", as the Toledo Symphony used music to look at the history of Ohio.
Annual Showcase of the Arts – This is the second year the students from various grades participated in this event sponsored by the Toledo Symphony League. Check back soon for the results of this year's Showcase.
"Give a Child the Gift of Music" Fundraiser Concert with the men's group "This Hope", March 5 - This was the 6th annual fundraiser concert that benefits the "Give a Child the Gift of Music " fund. This Hope is a men's group that praises and worships the Lord through the harmony of their five voices. The evening was a blessing for all those who attended. High School OMEA for Band and Choir – March 12 & 13
Middle School OMEA Solo and Ensemble – April 17
Annual Elementary Program – April 30 – “Pirates of the ‘I Don’t Care’-ibbean” – Old and young alike look forward to the annual elementary program. There will be two performances – for grandparents at 10:30 pm and at 7 pm for family and friends. Both performances will be held in the auditorium at Emmanuel Baptist Church (1/4 mile east of the school).
Middle School OMEA Band and Choir – May 7 & 8
Middle School Band & Choir, 4th-5th Grade Bands Spring Concert – May 21 @ 7 pm – Parmelee Gym - The public is welcome to any of our concerts!
High School Spring Concert – May 27 @ 7 pm – Parmelee Gym - For the high school band and choir, this last concert of the year is a highlight. Not only are the seniors in band and choir honored, but any alumni in attendance are invited to join the choir for the song, "With All My Heart".
High School Graduation - June 5 – The High School Band will be performing.
Fundraisers – The annual pie sale and cookie dough sale are two of our major fundraisers during the school year. The events not only help the music department’s "Give a Child the Gift of Music" scholarship fund, but also enable us to purchase large items such as tubular chimes, tubas, bells, etc. Other fundraisers that we will be holding this year are as follows:
