The ACSI district spelling bee was held at Toledo Christian School on February 13th. The following E.C.S. students participated:
• First grade – Lukas Dyk
• Second grade – Alonzo Woods, Zeb Jackson
• Third grade – Johrdan Coleman
• Fourth grade – Marcus Durden, Sara Scazzero
• Fifth grade – Cassidy Killinen
• Sixth grade – Alex Vick
By the end of the day, Alex Vick, an E.C.S. 6th grade homeschool student, came in 2nd in the 5th-8th grade bee-off. This gives Alex the privilege of attending the ACSI regional spelling bee on March 26th, in Circleville, Ohio, to compete with 40 other spellers. The top 4 spellers from the regional will then proceed to the national spelling bee in Washington, D.C. on May 7th-8th.
